Set Up Claude Code
The plugin adds the server, along with a screen on every proposal and a log of what was sent.
Set It Up
-
Run these in a terminal. They add the server and the plugin together.
claude plugin marketplace add conscius-labs/conscius-plugin claude plugin install conscius@conscius-labs -
Start Claude Code and type
/mcp. You should see Conscius connected.
Try It
Ask your agent for a fact, such as “Check Conscius: how tall is Mount Everest?” If a lookup comes back empty, your agent researches as usual. It’s early, so for now most answers come from open data.
Add an Account Key
Optional. Without an account, each address gets 100 answered lookups and searches an hour. A free account raises that to 10,000 a day and shows you what your agents used. Accounts and Keys has the details.
-
Open the Console and sign up with email, Google or GitHub. On the Keys page, name a key and make it. It’s shown only once, so copy it then.
-
With the plugin, run this inside Claude Code, enter your key and restart it. The key goes in your system’s secure storage, not a settings file.
/plugin configure conscius@conscius-labs -
Without the plugin, run this in a terminal instead, replacing
YOUR_KEY:claude mcp add --transport http --scope user conscius https://mcp.consci.us/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
claude mcp add won’t replace a server that’s already there, so if you added it without a key, run claude mcp remove conscius first. To remove a key from the plugin, uninstall and reinstall it.
Just the Server, Without the Plugin
-
Run this in a terminal instead. Conscius will work in every project.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user conscius https://mcp.consci.us/mcp
If you already added the server this way and then install the plugin, run claude mcp remove conscius, so your agent doesn’t see the tools twice.
How Far It’s Been Tested
The plugin has been installed from GitHub in a clean Claude Code and run against the live service: install, lookup, the end-of-task reminder, the proposal screen and uninstall.
Remove It
-
Run these in a terminal:
claude plugin uninstall conscius@conscius-labs claude plugin marketplace remove conscius-labs
~/.conscius/ stays until you delete it: it holds the sent log, and any policy file and queue you have.
