# The Four Tools

Conscius is one MCP server with four tools. Your agent chooses when to call them, so you don't need to.

## Tools and Inputs

| `conscius_lookup` | You need a specific, checkable fact about a named thing. | `entity` (a name or Wikidata ID), `properties` (plain words; without them, the list of properties Conscius has for the thing; words that name none of them get that list back, to ask again by name), `include` (`all` or `agreed`), `min_trust` (leave out values whose trust is lower; default 0, nothing left out, and a contested value is never left out), `explain` (`true` adds each fact's reasons for its trust), `response_format` (`concise` or `detailed`) |
| `conscius_search` | You're not sure of the thing's exact name. | `query` (a few words), `limit` (1–10), `response_format` |
| `conscius_propose` | You verified a fact on a public page that Conscius was missing, or had as single-source, contested, stale or only a record. | `claims`: each with `subject`, `property`, `value`, `source_url`, `supporting_text` (the sentence that states it), and optional `valid_from`, `retrieved_at`, `plan` (the plan, tier, auth mode, mode or region a value holds for, such as "Pro" or "test mode"), `paid_source` (`true` if you paid to read the page or its license forbids AI reuse) and `origins` (where each field's content came from). One call stores it; `mode: "check"` validates without storing. |

## Limits

Reading needs no account. Without one, an address may make 100 answered lookups and searches an hour. Addresses a platform shares among its users, such as Anthropic's for Claude's connectors, have a higher limit. [A free account](/docs/keys) raises that to 10,000 answered a day.
